Yes, Kos has beautiful beaches. π

What happens when Kos combines CHEESE + WINE?
You get one of the island`s most distinctive flavours:
π¬π· ΞΟΞ±ΟΞΏΟΟΟΞΉ ΞΟ β KrasotΓ½ri Ko
Also known locally as TΓ½ri tis PΓ³sias β the cheese of posia.
But here`s the interesting partβ¦
The cheese isn`t simply dipped into a glass of wine. π·
Traditionally, this white sheep`s or goat`s milk cheese is left to mature for at least a month in wine lees β known locally as posia.
That`s what gives the outside its characteristic reddish colour and the cheese its distinctive aroma and flavour.
And this isn`t just another Greek cheese.
πͺπΊ Since 2018, KrasotΓ½ri Ko has PGI status, officially linking it to Kos and its local tradition.
π When you`re on Kos, look for it in local shops, wineries and traditional tavernas.

Why did people come to Kos seeking healing more than 2,000 years ago?
The answer is hidden in the hills above Kos Townβ¦
π¬π· The Asklepieion of Kos β ΞΟκληΟιΡίο
This wasn`t simply a temple.
It was a sanctuary dedicated to Asklepios, the ancient Greek god of healing, and became an important centre for healing and the teaching of medicine.
And the location is spectacular. π
Built into a green hillside, the complex rises across three terraces, overlooking Kos and the Aegean.
Imagine arriving here in antiquity:
πΏ surrounded by nature
ποΈ temples dedicated to healing gods
π©Ί physicians and medical knowledge
π religion and healing intertwined
Excavations have even uncovered ancient surgical instruments, statues and inscriptions at the site.
Standing here today, you`re walking through one of the places that helped make Kos famous for medicine throughout the ancient world.

Thereβs something magical about watching the sun slowly disappear behind Kalymnos. π¬π·β¨
From the northern coast of Kos, the island rises across the Aegean while the sky changes from gold to orange, pink and deep blue. The sea becomes almost perfectly calm, the heat of the day fades, and for a few minutes everything seems to slow down.

What if I told you that one of the most influential names in the history of medicine came from a small Greek island?
